Could be a lot of things - you rooted it wrong, you did something while rooted that caused a problem, something (probably on the motherboard) went bad. Some software got corrupted. Any "this is the cause" answer is - at best - a wild guess.

You can try wiping the cache partition.
That occasionally fixes the booting up problem for me.
With the phone off, hold volume up + power + home until the phone vibrates. Then use the volume buttons to navigate the recovery screen and use the power button to select the options.
This will not delete any of your data, so don't worry about backing anything up.

Anything can be fixed - once the problem is determined. What you're describing is a symptom of a problem, not the problem itself. It's going to take some hands-on work to determine the problem, and that means a repair shop or someone who lives near you who knows enough about cellphones to work on the actual phone. (Or someone here who happens to guess at the right fix.)

I downloaded the fx as well as the additional fx root in an effort to black out apps to save battery, renamed it .bak and rebooted per instructions here

Yeah, sometimes it says that the operation failed but it still worked.
Or were you referring to it not fixing your issue?
