Anyone been able to disable badges on the mail app? I've tried looking for a setting in application manager, but Mail does not even show up. Looked for a setting within the app itself and the specific accounts, but nothing there either. The "badgeprovider" that users on other devices seem to be able to access is nowhere to be found. I do see that it has read and write permissions to com.sec.android.provider.badge.permissions but I'm not sure how to change this. Where does android keep this information and how can I access it, preferably without rooting (new device under warranty and I'd rather not experiment with rooting on it yet)? I do this kind of thing all the time on my macbook, but I'm new to android, so please explain from step one.

Also, I have looked for permissions managers on the Play store, and a preliminary search turns up nothing that works with 4.4.2....
