    Default Jellybean 4.3 custom ringtones/notifications

Every guide I've seen so far has shown the user placing their custom tones into the Ringtones and Notifications folder and then selecting them. That said, I do not get this option. My device goes through something called "Media Storage" to select it's ringtones and notifications. I can't find the location of media storage using search in windows explorer; and can't find the location of any of the default tones by searching their names either.

I have no clue where to add my custom stuff to

"Media Storage" is a list of media files generated by the media scanner when you turn the phone on. Ringtones go into the ringtone folder, notifications go into the notifications folder, etc., for the sake of your knowing where they are. (I keep mine in subfolders of /extSdCard/mp3 and they work just as well.) If the new tone doesn't show up, restart the phone. (Or get an app like Rescan Media to force a media scan without restarting.)
