LG G2's Wifi

[AC Question]

I purchased a LG G2 from someone. The phone is brand new that he unlocked it. Everything is working fine except the wifi, whenever I connect to wifi I only have 3 seconds where I am able to receive data from the network, after that the phone is as good as not being connected to wifi at all. I would then have to go turn off and on wifi again to get another 3 seconds of grace period. Is this a software or hardware issue? Did I get scammed and got sold a dud?

Welcome to Android Central! Does this occur only on your home wi-fi network, or any network? How about mobile data--does that connect normally?

Tried it with my friend's phone's hotspot and roommate's phone's hotspot. Both worked fine, I was able to download apps and watch videos. What does that say about my G2? My computer is using the home wifi fine though so I have no idea what is going on

Go through that guide and try some of the tips. It is possible for one device to connect fine and another to have problems. A router reboot can help sometimes.
