Samsung Galaxy S3 and Kit Kat 4.4.2

[AC Question]

Have had a number of problems since upgrading to 4.4.2. Primarily with wifi connections and inability to stay connected to 4G. Also battery life negatively affected. Verizon offers little help other than factory reset.

Will rooting the phone help? Looking at Towel Root.

Appreciate any thoughts.

Perhaps try booting into Safe Mode? Maybe something you installed is interfering, brought on by the 4.4.2 update. Restart the Device in Safe Mode - Samsung Galaxy S® III

Nope. Still no 4G. Since you haven't commented on my thought about rooting, I assume your not too fond of that idea.

Yeah sorry, I'm not experienced at rooting. Rooting on its own won't do anything--it depends on what you do afterwards. Like a custom ROM, or freezing some system app that you weren't able to disable before, for example.
