android bug 13678484 as reported by app "bluebox security scanner"

AC Question

I have android icecream 4.04 which I purchase a few month back (current date Aug-2014) There was a reported bug which the App "bluebox security scanner identified and was suppose to be corrected in 2012 by updates through the carrier.

Both Chatr and Fido Canadian carriers under Rogers do not push out this correction to phones.

Can anyone tell me why this patch can't be downloaded directly? My Samsung (my phone ace IIx) phone has this bug 13678484 called FakeID. How can this patch be applied to my phone?

Google Play Services updates in the background. The only way you can tell it's being updated is if you have a 3rd party antivirus app, which might notify you that it just scanned Google Play Services when it updates. What version of Google Play Services is your phone running? Go to Settings>Apps>All, select Google Play Services, and look at the version number. I'm currently on 5.0.89.
