Google Chrome on Windows 8?

[AC Question]

My wife just inherited a windows 8 laptop, and I just can't for the life of me get chrome to run on it. every time I try to go to the google website it gives me some message about not being able to go to that site because of security concerns or something. Is windows 8 rigged up to make it hard to run google stuff, or am I missing something in a setting?
