T Mobil Prism II microphone

[AC Question]

I have a T Mobil Prism II (model U8686) and the primary microphone stopped working. Using the phone with a blue tooth headset works fine and using it in "speaker phone" mode also works. The mic' just doesn't work in regular phone mode. Is this a software problem or a problem with the hardware?

Welcome to Android Central! I'd have to guess a hardware problem. I don't know exactly how your phone is designed, but it's possible that the speakerphone mic is separate from the phone mic--the speakerphone mic may be what's used for the video camera, for example. How old is the phone? If it's still under warranty, contact T-Mobile or whoever manufactures the phone.
