Default S3 battery life - battery suddenly draining faster than previously

My S3 has suddenly started draining faster. The last 2 days it has gone from 100% at 8am to 0 by 4pm without being used. (Can't take my phone in at work, so it's is locked in my car all day). I have power saving settings on - nothing changed. But where my phone used to last until 10pm, now it is dead just when i need it. Help. What can i check to see what is draining the battery?

You can check the built-in battery monitor (It should be under Settings, General, Battery) or you can install a battery monitor like GSam (the latter does give you MUCH more info on what's consuming your battery, but it can get confusing, in which case all you need to do is take a screenshot and post it here and we'll try to help )

But it could also just mean that your battery is dying.

PS: Is there a reason you leave your phone ON in your car while at work? If you set it to Airplane mode it shouldn't drain at all (OK, so maybe a couple of percentage points) or turning off the phone while not needed would also save battery :P

It could be many things - apps or services installed, bad battery, network changes, etc. Factory reset (backup beforehand) and see if the draining continues. If it does, then consider a replacement battery.

Let us know how it goes.
