Nexus 4 screen cracked

I managed to crack the screen on my nexus 4, but the un-cracked parts still work. Is it possible that the digitizer is still working, and just the screen needs replacing, or does the digitizer need replacing as well?

Welcome to Android Central! Does the screen respond appropriately to touch? If so, then the digitizer is probably still functional and you may just have to replace the glass. Does the screen actually turn on?
