lg g3 and my pc usb issues

ive got the lg g3 and cannot get my pc to connect via usb cord...i dont know if its a setting on pc or what , cant get to change from charging to mtp so i can load music on here, any help would be appreciated

Welcome to Android Central! When you connect, look at the phone and swipe down the notification shade. Is there a USB connection notification? If so, tap it, and tap MTP there.

If you don't even see a USB connection notification on the phone, then did it ever connect before, or did this start just recently? It might be related to the August Windows Updates. Microsoft pushed some bad updates, one of which caused problems with connecting Nexus devices via USB--not sure if this might also have affected other phones. See these threads for more info:

What about the notification shade--can you see a USB connection notification there, as I had asked in my previous post?

Have you tried a different USB cable?
