I apologize in advance if this posting is way out of place as I have never navigated this forum and very few others for that matter. I have been considering rooting my HTC Desire S phone mainly because I very much would like to be able to use peripheral usb devices with it. In my quest for information on rooting I encountered something that I am hoping will be a less drastic solution. I find that my Desire S (Gingerbread 2.3.3 with HTC Sense 2.1) is upgradeable to Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 3.6. I would like to know, will an Ice Cream Sandwich update enable HTC Desire S to run in USB Host Mode? Thanks for your help.
