Battery and Signal

[AC Question]

I've had my phone for a few years and the battery has started to not last as long, It barely lasts a day. In the past week I've experienced issues with my signal and I can't send texts, make calls or access the internet. I have now replaced the battery and a mass of texts came onto my phone as well as updates. Was the battery effecting it because it was decreasing in the amount of charge it can hold and if so, why?

It shouldn't. It was probably just a coincidence where your carrier was having issues the same time you were having battery problems.
