TouchWiz at Home Stopped Working - Frozen Screen, How to Backup Data?

A

AC Question

I have the dreaded 'touchwiz at home has stopped working' on my S3. This has completely frozen my screen so I cannot use the touchscreen at all (can't get into settings etc).

I have tried the following with no luck;
1) Battery out and re-start
2) Safe mode
3) Clearing cache partition and re-boot

I am resigned to a factory re-set. But how can I back-up my data - ideally I would like contacts, and app data.

I have tried with no luck;
1) Kies - as device is connected as camera (I cannot change to media device as touchscreen not working)
2) Helium, Mobile Go for Android.

USB de-bugging is not enabled and of course I cannot change this now.

I have extracted photos by simply connecting the USB to my pc, but how I can do the rest in my situation.

Welcome to Android Central! One other thing to try is to remove the SD card and boot up again. If the card is corrupt, it might be causing problems.

That's tough question. I'm not sure how you can back the other stuff up. Presumably, all of your Google stuff already synced to the cloud before things froze up, but the other non-Google app data might be a lost cause.
