HTC One video out to AUX connection

A

AC Question

HTC one (I assume M7) on Verizon

I just bought a new car (Hyundai Veloster) which will play video only through an AUX port (I suppose it is a 3.5 mm jack). I can also use the provided RCA adapter but I would prefer to avoid it if possible. I know some phones can output video directly through the headphone jack, but I don't have a cable to test it yet. So, should I buy an aux cable of some kind, or should I use an HDMI to RCA adapter and then an RCA to AUX adapter? Or should I just forget my phone and buy a cheap media player of some kind?

My wife also has an HTC on T-mobile if that is relevant.

Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! This question has come up a few times lately. I don't think you can output an HD signal to an SD input (the RCA input is presumably standard def), because you'd be trying to cram a 1920x1080 image into a 640x480 screen. I could be wrong, though.
