So I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I was wondering what happens to them after your contract expires? Can you still connect to the internet through wifi and download apps/go on the web (with wifi connection)? Can you still use the apps and music that you've already downloaded? This is my first phone so I'd kinda like to know.
By the way, I have Verizon as my carrier and I heard that Verizon doesn't let you access wifi after you disconnected from their service. Is this true?

You can do it with new phones too. :)

I have a Moto G as a backup that has only seen time as a Wi-Fi only device so far.

Also, you may be able to find a pay-as-you-go tariff that doesn't expire. That's useful for occasional data use, or for a spare phone used in emergencies etc.
