phone wont charge nor connect.

I have a Sony Xperia L rooted to 4.4.3. now when i connect my phone to my laptop the phone wont charge not the memory connects for transfer. I have tried USB debugging and nothing happened. Please advice.

Welcome to Android Central! When you connect the phone, do you get a USB notification? If so, swipe down the notification shade and tap it, and see if you can select MTP.

Have you tried connecting the phone to other computers? Have you tried a different USB cable?
