Kies informed me of a firmware upgrade on my Samsung Galaxy s4 (SGH-M919)(Ver 14.07.04.01). It has been 10 hours and the computer still says "firmware upgrade in progress... Please do not disconnect the cable connected to the PC." The percent bar at the bottom shows 0% and the phone says "Downloading... Do not turn off target!" I have upgraded firmware before and it never took 10 hours. Any suggestions?

That is a real sticky situation....you don't want to unplug it, as that might cause a brick. Restarting the PC is out for the same reason. I am going to be honest, I am not sure what to suggest. Have you tried calling Samsung?

No. I was going to call Tmobile this afternoon. That is who I have the phone with. To be honest, I did not think Samsung would have a support line. If I don't get it resolved, I will start looking for numbers. At this point, I am stuck,

Final update - I spoke with Samsung. They said since the phone was still in download mode, turn it off. I did and things are working. Not sure whether I will try to upgrade the firmware or not. The agent said the upgrade was OTA (Over the Air) only and could not be done through KIES. I never did understand why KIES was telling me about the upgrade and offering to do it if that was so.

Glad you got an answer. Kies is OK for doing some stuff, just not as much as Samsung says it is for.
