Suddenly no one can hear me normally on a call with my galaxy s5 unless I'm using the speaker phone. It's just dead silent. Can it possibly be an issue with the microphones if the speaker phone option works normally? I already had to replace one of these because after a week nobody could hear me properly. I was cutting in and out like the reception was bad, though I could hear them fine. I've had this one now for a couple of months with no problems and I don't want to have to throw it in the face of some poor person at the verizon wireless store.

I have tried removing the battery for 30 seconds and replacing, no effect. I have tried removing the sim card and putting it back, no effect. Is the software on these things just terrible?

Do you have the Lifeproof case? If so, some people report that using an air can to blow at the bottom of the of the case around the plug port will remove a trapped air bubble that will prevent the sound.
