Nexus 5 overheating issue

[AC Question]

I charged my phone for about 5 hours at most before I got any rest tonight, I wake up and the charger port is smoking and the metal tip which you plug into the phone was glowing orange. My charger port was melted and my phone was super hot. I just got this phone two weeks ago from asurion and now this. THE PHONE CANNOT BE CHARGED.

Welcome to Android Central! That's certainly bad. Contact Asurion and tell them they need to give you a replacement phoned that doesn't catch on fire.
