Touchscreen not working on Nexus 7 (2012)

Hi everybody, the other day I cracked the screen on my nexus 7 1st generation tablet, when I tried to touch where it was cracked it didn't respond but responded where it wasn't cracked. What do I do? Thanks.

If at all possible I would work with the device and try to get your important info sync'd to your Gmail account and retrieve any other important stuff like photos, etc now while you still have some functionality of the display. Might take you moving from portrait to landscape modes to achieve it depending on the areas that work.

From there you will have to look into getting it repaired or face upgrading to a new device all together which might make more sense depending on parts/labor cost to fix it.
