    Hi,
I am here out of curiosity as somebody(Google ) recommended that this could be the best place to ask my query.
    The question goes as under:

Now a days we have many android phones with similar specs Like:
1.6GHz Quad core, Android 4.4/4.3, 1GB RAM.........etc. Camera specs are usually different.

My question is whether it is possible to root a phone and then after some changes put another's software image into it.

For example: How cool it would be if I could buy a cheap Chinese phone and put a Nexus4 image into it(or even Motorola image would do )
DREAM ON.......probably someone might say that. But can somebody tell how easy or hard that's goind to be?
If at all you feel that's not possible .....what are the reasons?

It is possible to an extent. Usually you just get the phone.. Root it.. And use a ROM someone developed for that phone. The main thing is it has to be developed to work on that phone.. You just can't throw any ROM onto a phone. So see what ROMs are compatible with the device you're thinking about buying.
