Do I need to replace my Nexus 4 battery entirely or is this a fixable issue?

A

AC Question

My Nexus 4 seemingly does not want to stay on even if the battery is "full". It will shut itself completely off, and if I go to turn it back on, it shuts itself off again. And the only way to keep it on, is to have it plugged into the charger, full battery or not.

I've had instances where i'm using the phone, unplugged, and it will make this screechy type noise and shut off. Like, a VREEEEEEEEEEEEP type sound.

With the device on, perform a factory reset. Be sure to back up beforehand.

If that doesn't fix the problem then yes, a battery replacement is necessary. You can send for repair or find a guide to follow and replace yourself.

Good luck, and be sure to let us know how it goes.
