My Galaxy 4 deleted pictures on it's own

This is the 2nd time this had happened. I took quite a few pictures and videos at a concert last night. I was able to show them to some people, as they showed up in my gallery. I tried to show them again to someone, and my gallery said there were no images. When I checked my SD card, they were not there, either. I tried my Google+, and not there either. Every other picture before last night was there. Can someone tell me what might have happened? I haven't seen this before until a couple of months ago when it happened for the first time.

Welcome to Android Central! If they were on the external SD card, I would suspect a glitch there. Samsung devices are a bit notorious for SD issues. Unmount the card (in Settings>Storage), remove the card, then insert it into your computer. Can you find the photos there using the computer's file explorer? If not, try using a recovery program like DiskDigger to look for the missing photos.
