calendar does not notify me on Samsung Galaxy S5

Welcome to Android Central! Is it the stock Calendar? Are you certain you've set reminders for the events in question? Have you checked the settings within the Calendar app to make sure Notifications are turned on? Also, go to the App Manager, select Calendar, and make sure Show Notifications is checked on.
