I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4. I have backed up all of my text messages and want to delete them off my phone. I have 12,000 + messages in one thread. When I tried to delete the thread it crashed my phone. Tried deleting a days worth at a time. Same problem. I can only delete one at a time without the app stopping and closing. How can I get my old messages deleted quickly without the crash issues?

Welcome to Android Central! What happens if you go to the App Manager, select Messaging, and Clear Cache and Clear Data? Keep in mind that this will probably clear all message threads, not just the one you're trying to delete. There might be a separate Messaging Storage app as well, so that might be the correct one to Clear Data for.
