How do I hook my Galaxy S4 up to my Chevy Malibu?

A

AC Question

Just bought a galaxy s4 and tried hooking it up to the USB in my 2010 chevy Malibu and it reads as an installer but no media connection. Nothing will play. My iPhone use to work. How do I fix this or what cable do I need to get. I just want to play pandora :(

Unfortunately, it seems your car only supports audio 'streaming' from iDevices, just like maaaaaany auto manufacturers do. If you connect a non-Apple device, you SOMETIMES can read it as a media device (like a USB stick), so you can play files that are stored on the device, but not play audio from apps like Spotify or Pandora (you'll need Bluetooth or AUX cable for that).

Some smart audio systems have preloaded apps (Pandora is one of the common ones) that will let you stream audio from an Android phone but only if connected via Bluetooth, not USB.
