    my htc just went off.have tried putting it on in vain,tried charging but nothing seem to be working.tried pressing and holding the power but but still aint working.

    It could be that the battery has failed. But first try removing and replacing the battery if your phone lets you do that. Try also connecting to the charger and pressing the power button for much longer than normal, a minute say.

    I wonder how long you tried charging it. A 15 minute charge wouldn't give it enough of a charge to turn off. Plug it into the charger (not into a computer) and leave it alone for 24 hours. (Make sure that it indicates that it's actually charging - if it isn't, either the charger or the USB cable are bad - assuming that you checked to make sure that there's power at the wall outlet.) If that doesn't fix it, bring it in to your carrier's repair facility.
