I am getting a message that says "no photos selected" when my Samsung Galaxy s5 goes into sleep mode. Anyone know how to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have Daydream or the Samsung screensaver function on? It might be looking for photos to display.

I was getting that as well. Just go to Settings, then Display, then choose something like National Geographic Picture of the Day under the Daydream selection.
