The Nexus 4 OS is KitKat 4.4.4. The battery saving apps do help, however when I'm doing a few minutes of text work such as in Evernote, the battery can dive 4-6%. Note that my Screen is usually set to 10% with Timeout at 1 minute. Data and Bluetooth are always off. Charging is generally once per day, when the battery is down to about 58-65%.

Can Nexus 4 battery life be improved, or is this the "nature of the beast?"
    Sincere thanks

The Greenify app is said to be good at conserving battery charge.

Also, your battery is still in good condition, I take it?

I believe that it's true also that some battery-relevant apps can actually use a lot of battery charge. I'm certainly not saying that's true of the ones you mention, or of Greenify, but it's worth bearing in mind that some supposedly helpful apps may come at a price.
