i have a smashed screen and the device is locked how do i hard reset

My device has a smashed screen and is locked, i have tried hard reset by pressing the power and volume keys but this did not work, how do i resolve this issue, also when plugged into the pc it does not show up as the device is locked

You may have to take it to a repair shop to get the data off of it. They would lost likely have to replace the screen so you can enter your password to access the device.
