My phone is so darn slow. What happened?

AC Question

Now, I want to notify that this phone is quite old right now (it's the Vibrant Samsung Galaxy S1), but it is a great phone. There wasn't a problem about it until now. It took 5 minutes to change the wallpaper, it says that my storage is low (even though I only took up to 280MB of the internal storage AKA memory), it won't allow me to send messages or receive them without either a "message rejected" or freezing with the keyboard intact to the extent that I have to reboot it, and it's so slow that it lags really badly when I try to do anything besides unlocking the phone. I've cleaned cache, freed up ram, wiped the cache partition (or partition cache, however you want to call it), I've done hard resets, soft resets, deleted all my videos and pictures, still nothing. Moved all apps to the SD card, nothing. No matter what I do, my phone is getting slower and slower, even though I'm not really doing anything.

What do I do?
