How do I recover lost contacts?

My Galaxy S3 stoped sinking my contacts. Lost last 6 months of entries to contacts.

The phone is 2 years old and all the sudden it stopped sinking my contacts. I must have down loaded or up graded an app I shouldn't have 3 weeks ago and didn't know it.

Go into system settings > accounts > google. Make sure you accounts is checked to sync. If contacts were entered and the sync option was not enabled at the time, enabling now will sync. If you deleted the contacts before the sync then those contacts are gone.
