When using Google Keep, is it possible to set the Check Boxes as a default?

Each time I create a new list I have to change to show the Check Boxes. Can I make this selection my default? And where and how?

Welcome to Android Central! If you tap the To-Do List icon (the one that has horizontal lines with checkboxes next to them) to create a list, the checkboxes should show automatically after you enter each item. That's how it is on my Nexus 5. Is that not happening for you?
