When trying to backup (urged by Sony Companion) the tablet refuses to backup, telling it is encrypted. OK, then, how to DECRYPT it? Nothing to be found on the web untill now. Third backup since I bought it in March '14.
Someone has some ideas, or came by this problem?

Welcome to Android Central! So did you encrypt your tablet at some point? If a device has been encrypted, I don't believe you can de-encrypt it, unless you do a factory reset.

Thanks, B. Diddy (brother of P.Diddy?) I would not know how to encrypt my tablet. However, I read somewhere that Android encrypts , when downloading certain apps ?I downloaded and used Popcorntime. Anyway, I could always backup, but not anymore. Pity to go back to factorysettings, I would have to load the whole bunch again, not having a current backup.

You can tell if your device is encrypted by going to Settings>Security>Encryption, and see if there is an option to encrypt the device. If there is, then you aren't encrypted, and I wouldn't know why the device is refusing to backup.
