Super high resolution screens = tiny print?

I have a Note 2 and a Nexus 7 (2nd gen).

I find that I often use my Note because the Nexus screen, with it's high resolution, makes reading nearly impossible.

Far sightedness is now becoming a part of my life as I age. My perfect vision is officially gone at 49.

Do some devices scale text better than others? I can't seem to find a way to get fonts much larger on the Nexus. ScoreMobile on the Nexus 7, for instance, requires a magnifying glass. On the Note, it shows up perfectly natively.

So, if I upgrade to the Note 4, am I in for a world of super tiny print?

Thanks

Some devices, such as my LG G3, allow you to set different font sizes. I'll just do some measurements and get back to you.

...Yes, the capital letter 'I' is about 1.5mm high on the smallest setting, and about 3mm on the largest. The word 'Nexus' is about 6mm and 10mm long respectively.
I hope that that helps.
