Why does my Nexus 5 have a Welcome screen all of a sudden?

Nexus 5 has a Welcome screen all of a sudden

My Nexus was working fine. I charged it over night and the next morning it has a welcome screen asking which language I want. It is asking me to setup all over again. I have no storage space. It isn't full, it just can't find 5 GB of space that was there yesterday. It has no bars. Please help!

Welcome to Android Central! Has all of your data been lost? It sounds like the phone did a full factory reset on its own, which can happen if there's some major glitch. You could try booting into Recovery Mode and wiping the system cache partition.
