on my Kyocera hydro life all of a sudden my volume buttons turn my phone off

So when I push the volume up or the volume down it will completely turn off and only the sound settings says it stopped working, does anybody know how to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! So do the volume buttons cause the phone to power off, or do they give an error message saying that "Sound Settings has stopped working"?

I've been having the same issue, don't know what to do about it though. It started this morning, the settings have been weird for a while now.
