I have encountered a rare problem with my Note 4. The other day I went to plug a sound cable into the headphone jack at my church and it would not play music to the speakers. When I plugged in the cable the phone recognized it by giving me a message on the banner saying that headphones had been connected. But it did not play any music through the speakers. Playback worked on my friends stand alone mp3 player, my laptop, and also my friends S5. My note 4 will playback from headphones but not from the audio cable. Any ideas?

If the speakers aren't amplified, the phone probably doesn't have enough power to make enough sound in the speakers to hear.

It did not help to amplify the speaker system more. I have heard a lot of people have the same problem. I think maybe the connection is not that good from the sound cable. There are other solutions such as powering down the device while the cable is in the headphone jack and then turning it back on but there should be a solution with less hassle.
