How do I transfer files and/or apps to my Androide phone's SD card?

You could download a file manager app from the Play Store (ES File Manager, Astro File Manager), or your phone may actually have come with one. Look for an app called "My Files" or similar in your app drawer. From there, you can tap and hold on a folder item (such as your \DCIM folder for photos), then you should get an option to Copy or Move. From there, navigate to your SD card and then select Paste.

Alternatively, you should be able to accomplish the same thing by connecting the phone to your computer.
