After I did an install and upgrade from 4.2.2 to 4.3 my phone is dead, what happened?

After install and upgrade from 4.2.2 to 4.3 my phone is dead

Did anyone have the same issue when upgrading Ice Cream Sandwich phone from 4.2.2 to 4.3 android version? I pressed the button to upgrade and my phone went dead. I am not sure if it is normal way to upgrade a system and how long it would take? Or it is a sign that battery died. It's been 30 minutes already and no sign of any life Any advice?

That is not normally how system updates happen. You're prompted to connect the charger during an update because it's essential that the process be uninterrupted by the battery draining fully during the procedure. Try again with the phone connected to the charger.

Since it's the carrier that updated your phone (over the air, but they still were the ones who did it), bring it to their repair store. They broke it, they get to fix it - for free. (AT&T had to replace one of mine for that reason - and it was the flagship phone at the time - not cheap.)
