Why is my HTC Desire restarting again and again?

my htc desire resatrts again and again.

my htc desire resatrts again and again. it gets stuck or if i'm lucky enough 4it to open it restarts wiz in few minutes and stucks once again. I hard resetted it but it has no change n z htc sync won't recognize it for me to try it wiz a laptop. pls help!

There could be a few things causing that, but the most common one is a stuck or defective power switch (the thing the power button pushes). Or the button itself could be stuck in because of dirt or something sticky got between it and the case. (Holding in the power button is a legitimate way to restart an Android phone, but you have to let go of it once it starts to restart.)
