Hi, I have a HTC one s which is about 2 years old. Recently my phone refused to turn on. however when I plug my phone to charge, the orange LED blinks for a while and then stays on. but my phone still does not power on. I took it to the service center and they said the motherboard needs to be replaced. Can somebody please help me figure out if its a motherboard problem or a battery problem? The last time the phone worked. it displayed a grey battery icon with exclamation point.

Welcome to Android Central! It seems that the easiest thing to try first would be a new battery, although that still isn't easy, considering the battery isn't intended to be user-removable. But I'm sure there a plenty of YouTube videos showing you how to do it, if you want to try yourself.
