Welcome to Android Central! How did you move the music to the SD card? What folder is it in? Are you sure the music files are gone, or does the phone just not recognize it? It could be due to the music player app, since apps in KitKat now need express permission to use the SD card--maybe the music app you're using doesn't have the permission.

The easiest way to see if the music is still there is to use a file manager and browse the card. You can do that on the phone with an app like ES File Explorer, or you can unmount the card (in Settings>Storage), remove it, insert it in your computer, and use the computer's file browser to look.
