I think my phone broke my SD card, is that even possible?

Can a phone wreck an sd card?

My ZTE Savvy locked up so I took out the battery to restart it. Upon startup it said 'Blank SD card or unsupported card'. It deleted ENTIRE card. I tried formatting it and it still says 'Blank SD card or unsupported card'. Am unable to move anything to card it says 'Not enough available space'! Put card into a different phone and it can't format it either.

Re: Can a phone wreck an sd card?

Put the card into a USB adapter. Plug it into your computer. (Directly into a computer USB port, not into a USB hub.) See if you can read from and write to the card. If you can, something is wrong with the phone. If you can't, format the card. If it won't format, the card has gone bad. If it formats, put it back in the phone and format it in the phone and it should work.

(Whatever happens, unless it works okay in your computer from the first try, you'll lose all the data on it.)
