Hi, I need to block someone from txt messaging me but I don't just want to add them to spam. I need them to know they are being blocked but don't want to go via my network. Any suggestions please?

Hm.. Well... If you don't want to block them via your carrier the only other option would be to mark them as spam.. This would block their messages from showing up on your phone and you could always remove it later to receive their messages. Not really any other options.

You could get a Google Voice number and give that to the caller you want to block, mark the number as blocked (the caller will get a "number not in service" response (his texting app determines what he sees as a result of that). And just send all of his texts on your phone to spam. (You can also forward the Google Voice number to your phone and give out that number to everyone. GV has more flexibility than most carriers' systems. The number can be forwarded to more than one number - I have mine going to my home and cell phones. The first one to pick the call up gets it. So one number whichever phone you're nearest to. And, in my case, my GV number is local to where I moved to, but my cellphone and home numbers are still local to where I moved from. So I get a local number for people who get confused when I give them an area code [usually store clerks], but everyone can still call me on my old numbers.)
