I have a HTC one X, however I have just been given a new iphone 6, which I need to keep the same number and contacts, is this easily done?

Hello. Welcome to Android Central. The iPhone 6 uses nano sim cards while the One X uses micro sim. You will not be able to use it on the iPhone.

As for the contacts, you can sync them to your Google account for backup. Then you can go to your service provider and ask for a new sim card. You will be able to keep your current number.

AT&T (and probably TMobile) will give you a new SIM card for the new phone. (The old one won't work any more.)

If you're using a virtual network operator, they usually charge for SIM cards (and the charge is WAY out of proportion to the cost.)
