Do you need an anti-virus? No. Should you be running one? Yes. I've been on the internet since it started and have downloaded exactly 0 viruses from the internet. OTOH, a the VP MIS of the company my worked for asked me, when I came to pick her up on our way home at the end of the day, if I could stay and help them disinfect the 400 some odd computers they had in their offices - they had all become infected, and not by anything anyone in the offices did.

So - is it possible to never get a virus? Yes. Do I run my phone without an antivirus program? No. And I run Malwarebytes too. One scan a week from each when I'm asleep doesn't bother me in any way. And it's caught about 3 viruses so far on my phone - from apps downloaded from the Play Store.
