Should I take apart my phone, it will not let me so anything other then put in the password?

Take it back where you got it and ask them for assistance. It's 3 weeks old so it''s under warranty. If you open it up you void the warranty. (If you're coming from an iPhone or are new to smartphones [just a couple of guesses], it's going to take a little time for you to become comfortable with how an Android phone works.)
