I used to be able to answer incoming calls by touching the "answer" key, now there is a "swipe" key which doesn't usually work before the call goes to the message center.
This a real pain to say the least, how can i get back to the original "touch" key.

Welcome to Android Central! How is it that the swipe-to-answer doesn't work? Do you have to swipe a long distance? Does the screen not respond correctly?

Some times it works other times not. It's probably just technique, we (my wife and I) may put too much pressure on it or not enough, I don't know. All I know is, we had far less trouble with the original touch key. There was nothing wrong with the original key, it didn't take any more time or effort, why change it....."if it ain't broke don't fix it".
BTW, do you know if this is an LG function or a server function. ??

What's done to answer a call is a function of your dialer app; the default Android app is named Phone.

An easy touch to answer may not always be preferable, because that means that it's easier to inadvertently answer a call that a person didn't want to answer, or perhaps it might get answered if the phone is in a purse or a pocket. The swipe-to-answer ensures that the person really meant to answer the call.

    Thanks for your reply,
Maybe I can switch to a different dialer app.

I totally understand this, however, it would be nice if there was an alternative for those of us with a little less dexterity in our fingers (we are both seniors).
    Thanks for your reply...Jack.

72, arthritic, and no problem swiping. My wife is still recovering from a stroke and she has no problems swiping either. You must be in a lot worse shape than we are. My sympathies.

    To all.
I really don't need to debate this, I just need an answer to my original question.....can I or can I not, go back to a touch key.
If yes, how......... if no, so be it.
    Thanks.

Have you tried any of the 3rd party Dialer apps available in Google Play? I don't know if they have a touch-to-answer option, but it's worth trying.
